Bound illuminated manuscript on vellum in an unidentified hand by which King Philip V of Spain bestowed the title of Count of Lizarraga on Martin de Ursúa y Arizmendi. Contains full-page coat of arms of Ursúa; full-page equestrian portrait of King Philip V; hand-painted borders in color and gold with thirty-eight portraits of Spanish military and religious figures and thirty-nine oval medallion views depicting the military exploits of Ursúa on the Yucatan penninsula and other areas of Latin America and the Caribbean; and accompanying text in Spanish. Signed: yo el Rey. Additional signed and dated testimonies on last three pages.
